Welcome to AIM, the following pages should help you get up and started with the minimum of fuss.
After installing AIM to the default location C:\AIM the applications requires either MS-Access 2007 or the free access 2007 runtime programme to be installed on your machine.
Once MS-Access 2007 or its' free runtime programme are installed double-click on the desktop icon or navigate to C:\AIM directory and double-click on the file named AIM_fe.
After the initial splash screen AIM offers a simple log-in box, the default log-in is user name Guest and pwd = password. It is strongly recommended that you add a new log-in and then delete the 'Guest' log-in.
The protection offered in the FREE version of AIM is not sophisticated, and whilst it will keep honest people honest, the more determined individual may well find a backdoor entry.
The user log-in also offers no level of user hierarchy, this facility will be considered for future releases of AIM.
Note : This is the only time you need to enter company names, AIM will use the information entered here throughout the entire application. This allows for efficiency of operation and accuracy of data. All changes made to this table will be cascaded to all related records, allowing for one-time edit and updates.

If the entry is successful AIM will present the new entry in the drop-down box. However, if unsuccessful AIM will warn the users.
On selecting 'yes' AIM transfers the new entry into the main input form for the user to approve.
AIM detects this is a new entry and offers the user the opportunity to add the new name
OK, down to the nuts and bolts stuff (also refer to AIM's flow diagram for a basic design input layout).
AIM has been designed to be used 'straight from the box' so to speak and users can enter accident reports without entering any support information. This is because all drop down boxes, for example, staff names can be added to 'on the fly' by simply adding a new entry or double clicking to bring up the entries main input form. However, the programme will be much quicker to use should such if information as staff names, staff grades, locations, staff managers, investigating officers and sign-off managers be populated into AIM, first off.
AIM comes populated with three major categorises, these being Accident, Incidents and Near-misses and a set of appropriately 50 accident types. These can be added to, amended or delete to suit the user's workplace / industry requirements.
