DICS stands for Document Issuing and Control System and is a comprehensive documentation management program.

DICS is intended to be used by those Quality, Health and Safety or Environmental professionals with responsibilities for the issuing, updating and removal of controlled documentation

DICS's primary objective is to make the management of your company controlled documentation simpler, less bureaucratic and more efficient.  DISC will aid companies in meeting the requirements of their Quality, Safety and / or Environmental Management System requirements for the control of documentation.

Installation Guide:

The FREE version of DICS will be installed into a directory on your C:\ Drive, "C:\DICS_v3".

Note: DICS can be moved into an alternative directory and has a self re-connection routine which easily allows users to do so.  A typical example would be when DICS's data file 'DICS_be' is moved onto a network drive to allow the front end to be placed on numerous user's terminals.

Network Usage: DICS has been designed and developed to be multi-user and network efficient.  DICS always performs best when working on your local computer. However, it is recognised that many users will wish to network DICS. Users may notice a slower than expected performance when connected over a network depending upon various factors such as the design, configuration, speed, traffic, etc. of your company network. (Example network setup)

Caution: If you are in a corporate network environment, you should check with your information technology department to determine whether your company has established guidelines concerning enabling content on Access databases.
