ISO 9000 Series

ISO 9001:2008 is in fact one part of a series of three publications, namely;

  1. ISO 9000:2000 (2005) Quality Management Systems - Fundamentals and vocabulary

    Establishes a starting point for understanding the three standards and covers the basics of what quality management systems are and also contains the core language of the ISO 9000 series of standards. As a guidance document it is not used for certification purposes, but it is an important reference document to understanding the terms and vocabulary related to quality management systems. In 2005 the publication was revised and ISO 9000:2005 published, so it is now be referred to as ISO 9000:2005
