ISO 9001:2008 Revision Status - As of July 2008
The ISO/DIS 9001:2008 has been approved and the proposed standard is being submitted for voting as a Final Draft International Standard (FDIS). If the FDIS is approved as scheduled, the new edition should be published in the October-November 2008 time frame. The proposed ISO 9001:2008 does not introduce any additional requirements beyond the current ISO 9001:2008.
Most of the suggested changes are just word changes for improved clarity and more objective interpretation of the requirements, and changes that are intended to improve further compatibility with the ISO 14001:2004 environmental standard. The new edition, however, will not require any specific reassessment for certification.
