The location relates to the location of the accident, incident or near-miss occurrence. This may be different to the employees place of work as specified in the staff table.

The employee's manager relates to their manager at the time of the accident, incident or near-miss occurrence. This may be different to the employees manager as specified in the staff table.

Users can select a manager from the drop-down box or add a new entry as summarized in the getting started section.

Unique reference number is simply that, a number allocated by the user to distinguish one record from another. The entry can be any mix of numbers and letters but is limited to an absolute maximum of nine characters.

Careful consideration to the reference identification system can lean towards easier record identification. (also see unique numbering)

For example

Location(LLL), Year(YY), Month(MM), Day(DD), Number(##), Alpha(AA)

Could be used as

LLLYYMMDD (RAM150904) = Accident at Ramsgate on 4th Sept 2015

LLLYYMM## (WKC140802) = 2nd Accident at Workshop C in Aug 2014

LLLYYMMAA (MAR1510AD) = Accident reference AD for Margate in Oct 2015

The accident type relates to the           major classification a company may use.  AIM is shipped with the default of accident, incident and near-miss occurrence as major types.

Users can select a major classification from the drop-down box or add a new entry as summarized in the getting started section.
