Welcome to DICS: Designed for  Windows XP (see notes), Vista, Win 7, 8 & 10

Program developed in a Win 10 64 bit environment as a 32 bit application, this to enabled GRAM to run on both 32 & 64 bit PCs

Installation Guide: Work Equipment Risk Assessment Management

Download DICS’s setup file setup-dics-full.exe from the download page and simply double click to run
the windows installer.  Check the programs Code Signing Certificate bears our authorised.

After successful installation and after initial splash screen, DICS offers a simple log-in box, the default log-in is user name is Guest and pwd is password. It is strongly recommended that you change the ‘Guest’ log-in.

Default installation directory;

“C:\Program Files (x86)\On Safe Lines QHSE Software\Document Issuing and Control System”

For XP - “C:\Program Files\On Safe Lines QHSE Software\Document Issuing and Control System”

(Also see notes below)

Note: DICS can be moved into an alternative directory and has a self re-connection routine to easily allow users to do so.  A typical example would be when DICS's data file 'DICS_be' is moved onto a network drive to allow the front end to be placed on numerous user's terminals.

Network Usage: DICS has been designed and developed to be multi-user and network efficient. DICS always performs best when working on your local computer. However, it is recognised that many users will wish to network DICS. Users may notice a slower than expected performance when connected over a network depending upon various factors such as the design, configuration, speed, traffic, etc. of your company network. (Example network setup)

Caution: If you are in a corporate network environment, you should check with your information technology department to determine whether your company has established guidelines concerning enabling content on Access databases.

For guidance on setting up DICS, please go to the getting started section of On Safe Lines - Welcome to DICS.

XP Users note:  Our software will also work in Windows XP however, the user will need to perform some one time initial set-up routines which are managed automatically in later operating systems, this routine requires the user to locate 2 data containing files using the built-in semi-automated re-linking routine.

DICS is a large file to download at approximately 266MB.  We would recommend using a download manager with a resume on broken download feature.  We currently use Free Download Manager (Lite version) see http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm

To use Free Download Manager paste this link into the Add Download Window - http://www.onsafelines.com/DICS/setup-dics-full.exe
